We are FIU's College of Architecture + The Arts, but our friends like to call us, "CARTA." (Take the C from College, the AR from Architecture, and the TA from The Arts.) Our College was formed in 2006 with one central vision: to be at the forefront of teaching, research, and service in art, design, performance, and communication.

Our faculty members are internationally recognized in their respective fields, and provide students with an educational environment that is both challenging and supportive. Their efforts are evident in the success of our graduates who have become accomplished film, television and Broadway actors and producers; architects, artists, musicians, and government officials.

Simply put, we are a student-centered College. We encourage artistic expression while nurturing the intellectual development of our undergraduate and graduate students. We are proud to offer programs that allow our students to participate in problem-solving engagement from the local community to global spaces. Ultimately, our students’ creative spirit is the driving force of our College.
