I’m Maria G. Claverie, Associate Director of Alumni Relations and Advancement and a proud FIU graduate (M.S. ’00). Our office keeps you up-to-date with the latest news and event information on FIU and the College. If you are not on our mailing list, please take a minute to update your information.
As you may recall, in 2006 the School of Architecture joined the performing, visual, and communication arts from the College of Arts and Sciences to form the College of Architecture + The Arts. We recently integrated with the School of Journalism and Mass Communication to form the College of Communication, Architecture + The Arts. We are now comprised of the following academic units: Architecture, Interior Architecture, Landscape Architecture, Art + Art History, Communication, Journalism + Media, Music, and Theatre.
After ten years, we have had many accomplishments, including the inauguration of the Miami Beach Urban Studios that features a magnificent new gallery, as well as design, performance, and classroom space on Lincoln Road. We have more than 150 events scheduled at the Herbert and Nicole Wertheim Performing Arts Center that showcase the talent of our Theatre and Music students, alumni, and faculty, as well as exhibitions in various locations that highlight the work of our BFA and MFA students. You are a graduate not only of a successful College, but of an exciting university that strives to serve the FIU community with enhanced resources and service. In other news, the FIU Alumni Association is making strategic changes to evolve our alumni programming and become more aligned with the priorities of the university. Effective immediately, all graduates belong to the Alumni Association. We will no longer operate under a membership structure, while you continue to enjoy all perks and services the Alumni Association offers. Read more.
