Evelyn Davila received a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Pratt Institute and a Master of Science in Art Education and Art Education Specialist at Florida International University. She taught art in Miami-Dade County Public Schools for thirty-five years, and retired from the public school system in 2008. For 28 years she taught art and served as a MDCPS museum educator at the University of Miami’s Lowe Art Museum During the last five years before retirement, she served as a MDCPS Art Technology Specialist. After retirement she became actively involved in a federal Arts Integration Grant for MDCPS which included planning and teaching classroom teachers how to include art as part of their curriculum and giving tours at the Kislak MesoAmerican gallery in Miami Springs. She has served as the Florida Art Educators Association’s and Dade Art Education Association retired art teachers chairperson. She has shown her work and served as adjudicator in numerous local and state juried and invitational exhibitions.
