This page provides a list of scholarships available for Art + Art History students. Some of these are in-house scholarships and others are national or international scholarships. FIU also maintains a database of general scholarships. These are posted at http://www.fiu.edu/scholarships. Panorama Travel Scholarship Endowment

(2) Student Scholarship Awards of $500.00 each for students in any CARTA department

The Panorama Travel Scholarship Endowment was established in 2016 by Panorama Travel to support study abroad programs in the College of Communication, Architecture + The Arts.

Scholarship Criteria:

  • Student must have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher at the time of selection.
  • Recipients can be in any CARTA major, at the undergraduate or graduate level.
  • Funds are to be used to participate in a CARTA study abroad program.
  • Student must have a demonstrated record of community service.
  • Interested students must submit a one-page letter explaining the importance of foreign travel to their academic and professional career trajectories. This should be accompanied by at least one letter of recommendation from a professor who can attest to student’s academic potential.
  • Applications are due via the online portal at fiu.academicworks.com March 30, 2017. Scholarship awardees will be announced April 30, 2017. Funds will be dispersed in July 2017 for travel to be undertaken between May 1, 2017 and April 30, 2018.

 

Shutterfly Graphic Design Scholarship

Shutterfly is proud to announce the $10,000 educational program we’ve established to help graphic design majors like you achieve your educational goals. The program supports not only you, with $5,500 of the $10,000, but also your community by awarding $4,500 of it in equal shares to the primary, middle and high schools where you graduated. Still Photographer Scholarship

Offered to undergraduate students with at least one year completed at a recognized four-year institution. To be considered for this $2000 award, students must have taken photojournalism courses and have at least a year and half of undergraduate work remaining at time of award.

 

National Sculpture Society Scholarships
Fine Art
Open to students of figurative or representational sculpture. Scholarships ($2000) are paid directly to the student’s academic institution.

 

Friends in Art Scholarships
Fine Art
Offered to blind or visually impaired students in college or entering college in the fall with an art, music, drama or creative writing major. These $1000 awards recognize achievement, talent and excellence in the arts.

 

Bob East Scholarship
Photography
Offered to undergraduate students with at least one year completed at a recognized four-year institution. To be considered for this $2000 award, students must have taken photojournalism courses and have at least a year and half of undergraduate work remaining at time of award.
