The Office of Engaged Creativity was founded in 2010 by Dean Brian Schriner to offer students and faculty the opportunity to work with civic leaders and artists on community-based projects.

Vision:

The Office of Engaged Creativity seeks to deploy the power of the arts to create, innovate and inspire a more just, beautiful, sustainable and healthy tomorrow.

Mission:

The Office of Engaged Creativity empowers the creation, dissemination, appreciation and understanding of the arts (Design, Art, Performance and other creative manifestations of culture).

This happens through support to the faculty of the College of Architecture + The Arts in their development and realization of impactful, multi-disciplinary projects and initiatives and by supporting exceptional exhibitions, education programs, research initiatives, and publications.

Location:

The Office is headquartered in the FIU College of Architecture + The Arts Miami Beach Urban Studios (MBUS) within the historical 420 building on Lincoln Road. The facility features an expansive studio space for architecture and fine arts students, as well as practice and performance spaces for music and theatre students, and a gallery.
