We offer sponsors ways to support our College through both yearlong sponsorships as well as the ability to sponsor individual events. We accept both in-kind and monetary donations. Make sure to consult your tax advisor to determine the tax deductibility of your gift.
Different sponsorship packets have been designed to suite a range of budgets. We offer many ways for your business to be involved. For example, you can choose between sponsoring a single event or a season of performances.
We look forward to helping you meet your marketing needs!
During the academic year, the College of Communication, Architecture + The Arts hosts signature events for the purposes of recruiting and retaining our students.
Walk on Water
The annual Walk on Water competition celebrates innovation and creativity among architecture students. It is a race founded by Professor Jaime Canaves, who has orchestrated the event for more than 25 years. Each student designs and constructs shoes that will allow him/her to walk the length of the Green Lake in the heart of the Modesto A. Maidique Campus. Awards are given to first, second, and third place winners and this year the competition is open to university students outside of FIU. The event is attended by students, faculty, staff, alumni, and media who watch with excitement.

Festival of the Trees
The Festival of the Trees and auction is a fundraising event hosted by the Interior Architecture Department and its advisory board. Each year, South Florida’s architecture and design community demonstrates its support for quality interior architecture education through their annual participation. This holiday extravaganza has raised over $200,000 in funds that benefit Florida International University’s Interior Architecture Department and its talented students. Festival of the Trees sponsors underwrite designers who design and build their unique holiday creations and donate them to the event. The “trees” are then displayed and auctioned at the gala opening and later exhibited at Dadeland Mall. The lucky winning bidders take these extraordinary creations and use them for holiday decorations in either their homes or offices. For more information, please click here.
Eco Couture Recycling Fashion Show
Eco Couture was created in 2014 by Architecture Alumna, Amira Ajlouni with the purpose of promoting sustainability through fashion design. FIU students, the Department of Architecture, and the Office of University Sustainability have continued this one-of-a-kind event featuring a recycled fashion show competition. The event strives to educate and inspire the community about recycling and a sustainable lifestyle. Student participants design and create garments out of recycled materials that will be modeled in a runway show. Judges decide the winning designs and the designers are awarded scholarships. After the event many of the dresses are exhibited at Dadeland and various fashion shows throughout the year. The event gathers 1,000 guests to raise funds that directly benefit the FIU Architecture Department. For more information, please click here.
Lillian Lodge Kopenhaver (LLK) Annual Conference
The LLK Center for the Advancement of Women in Communication hosts a two-day conference every year. The conference brings together industry professionals and scholars from around the country to discuss and analyze the status and role of women in communication, emphasizing their role in leadership positions in the fields of advertising, broadcasting, digital media, journalism and public relations. School of Architecture Career Fair
The SOA Career Fair is held every spring, giving employers the opportunity to recruit talented FIU Architecture, Interior Architecture, and Landscape Architecture students for full-time and/or internship positions in a more intimate setting. FIU offers a diverse group of talented students and alumni candidates from countries all over the world. For more information, please click here.
In the fall and spring, we host lecture series in the different disciplines to talk to students, providing real-world advice and information on trends in their given industry as well as the economy. This gives our students the necessary edge to build a successful career in the professional marketplace.
In addition to these events and initiatives, we also host art exhibitions, musical concerts, and theatre performances. All these events play an important part in the experiences we provide to our students so they have a world class education. There is a great necessity to enhance these events and to have the potential to offer additional events in the future.
If you are interested in sponsoring any of these annual events and initiatives, please contact Maria G. Claverie (305) 348-1805 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
