Eventbrite - Women in Communication: Breaking the Barriers

The Lillian Lodge Kopenhaver Center for the Advancement of Women in Communication at Florida International University’s College of Communication, Architecture + The Arts would like to present to you the Second Annual Conference, “Women in Communication: Breaking the Barriers.”  This national one-day conference on April 20, 2017, will be keynoted in the morning by Anne Vasquez, chief digital officer of tronc, Inc., formerly Tribune Publishing, and former managing editor of the South Florida Sun Sentinel, which won a Pulitzer Prize under her leadership.

The day’s events will bring together industry professionals and scholars from around the country. Conference participants will explore the role of women in leadership positions in the fields of advertising, broadcasting, digital media, newspaper, public relations and magazines.

It is a decades-long discussion that even now has reached no consensus or conclusion: Where are women in the ranks of communication professions? If they are not leading, where are they and what are they doing?

Our conference will highlight the center’s breadth and depth of expertise and experience, a highly visible platform for sponsors to demonstrate their support of our mission and vision. As we look forward to this convening of the industry’s leading professionals and scholars, we respectfully request your consideration of the attached sponsorship opportunities.

Each sponsorship level provides broad exposure and recognition opportunities, which will affirm our mutual dedication to the advancement of women in communication. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me or Kristin Bird, Director of Development for the College of Communication, Architecture + The Arts, at 305.348.0325 or
