LFP - Mentors (Liz Roldan) PhotoLiz Roldan is the News Director of WFOR-TV/CBS4 in South Florida. She earlier served as Executive Producer, Special Projects and Investigations for CBS4. She was subsequently named Interim News Director prior to her permanent appointment to the news director position in November 2011.

An Emmy Award-winning journalist with related public relations experience, Ms. Roldan has worked extensively in the South Florida television market. Prior to her return to CBS4, she was Managing Editor for WTVJ from 2000 to 2008. Previously, she served in the roles of the station’s Special Projects Producer and Assignment Manager. Before joining WTVJ, she was Assignment Manager for CBS4 from the early to mid ‘90s. Ms. Roldan is a proud member of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences.

A married mother of two, Liz balances her demanding professional career requiring being on call 24/7 with the demands of an active family life. She and her family are soccer enthusiasts and are especially devoted to the FC Bayern Munich Football team based in Munich, Bavaria — the home team of her German-born husband. Liz is of Cuban-American descent, was raised in Houston, Texas and studied journalism at the University of Texas at Austin. During her spare time, she loves reading all types of magazines and collecting fabulous shoes.
