Scholarships

This page provides a list of scholarships available for Landscape Architecture students. Some of these are in-house scholarships and others are national or international scholarships. FIU also maintains a database of general scholarships. These are posted at http://www.fiu.edu/scholarships. Please feel free to contact the department if you have a scholarship offering for which you would like our students to apply.

The Savino & Miller Design Studio Diversity + Inclusion Landscape Architecture Endowed Scholarship

The fund advances the College’s academic mission by supporting scholarships for students majoring in landscape architecture. The scholarship is awarded to students enrolled in or accepted for admission to the University who are majoring in landscape architecture. Recipients will be chosen principally on the basis of academic performance by maintaining a GPA of 3.0 or higher with the intention of encouraging future Black/African American practitioners with financial need to apply.

From Barry Miller and Adriana Savino, “We are creating this scholarship to enable talented Black/African-American students to study landscape architecture. Our office has had the good fortune of working with several FIU interns and graduates and believe that inclusion of more diverse representation will serve to increase individual opportunity while broadening our perspective in building more equitable communities. We see our profession as a calling to improve our social well-being and physical landscape and hope this scholarship will encourage and benefit future Black/African-American practitioners in landscape architecture.”

Landscape Architecture Foundation Student Scholarships

Over $150,000 is available every year through 17 different scholarships. Eligible candidates are undergraduate or graduate students enrolled at colleges and universities in the U.S. and Canada.  Each scholarship has a webpage, which details its purpose, criteria, and application requirements. Students are strongly encouraged to prepare application materials specific to the award being sought. Winners are chosen through a competitive process by leading academics and practitioners in landscape architecture.
