Studio Roberto Rovira at Miami Beach Urban Studios

Roberto Rovira is the principal of the interdisciplinary Studio Roberto Rovira, recognized for its creative approach in the fields of landscape architecture, public art, and design.  He completed a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Cornell University in 1990, and a Masters in Landscape Architecture at the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD) in 1998, where he was Dean’s Scholar, recipient of the Award of Merit from the ASLA,  and founder of the installation group Guerrilla Gardens. At the Urban Studios Roberto is able to work with clients on projects as well as conduct research in a space where art, design, and technology come together.

Pictured above, one of Robertos most recent research The Ecological Atlas Project.

The Ecological Atlas creates visually intuitive mappings of ecosystems. As it illustrates the seasonal migration of birds and butterflies or the changes of wildflowers and trees throughout the year, the EcoAtlas also conveys an intuitive understanding of natural patterns and aims to serve as a comprehensive design and visualization tool that can help designers, planners, and anyone interested in better understanding, working with, and transforming the environment. The EcoAtlas bridges art, science, design, and technology, and connects the power of data and technology with the rich complexity of natural systems.
