Arduino Drum Installation

This project demonstrates the use of small robotics including Arduino boards and actuators to play an algorithmic music piece written for percussion instruments at the speed which would be difficult for humans to play.    

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Using an Arduino Uno and a robust circuit, we were able to develop a drum set that can be played with by inputing various values into the Arduino IDE. The program is written in C++. The drum sticks are moved using multiple actuators.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

We learned how to work with the Arduino Uno, C++ and circuit design in order to develop a complex robot. The team also gained valuable experienced debugging hardware issues.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

We want our Drumbot to able to control the velocity and change the parameters of the actuators without having to hardcode them. In the future, we hope that this technology can be used by physically disabled people who want to learn how to play drums.
