Lutron’s Construction Design and Development Program is a dynamic rotational experience designed to prepare the brightest candidates for growth and success in Lutron’s Commercial Project business from pre-bid design support and estimation through to project execution and end user turnover. Immerse yourself in the Lutron culture to better understand Lutron’s Commercial Project businesses and have an immediate impact on Lutron’s continuous improvement efforts for the Commercial Projects teams!
What you’re going to do:
- Participate in a comprehensive 12-month rotational experience consisting of classroom, online, and on the job training where you will:
- Obtain a deep understanding of Lutron’s commercial lighting control and shading solutions
- Learn the construction process and implement Lutron’s project management life cycle from initial design and budget applications through to project scheduling requirements and owner turnover
- Develop skills in reading construction drawings, specifications of lighting controls, and shade designs to develop/design effective lighting control systems
- Utilize Lutron’s software platforms to complete takeoffs for commercial projects and prepare commercial system documentation for design, bid and construction purposes
- Partner with architects, engineering firms, general contractors, electrical contractors and the Lutron sales team to support Lutron’s business goals
- Collaborate with your team members on customer facing projects
- Utilize your 12-month rotational experience as you join the Commercial Projects team following the completion of the Construction Design and Development Program

- Directly contribute to commercial projects from pre-bid through final product delivery and project execution
- Maintain our position as the industry leader through your communication, product knowledge and problem-solving skills
- Engage in our culture of continuous improvement by providing valuable feedback to our teams
Qualifications:
- 4-year degree (BA or BS) in a technical area of study such as Architecture, Architecture Engineering, Construction Management, Civil, Mechanical and/or Electrical Engineering
- Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
- Leadership experience in athletics, academics, clubs, community service, etc.
- 0-2 years of professional working experience
- You are a results-driven problem solver
- You have a high attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
- You are adaptable and always up for a challenge
- You thrive in a fast-paced collaborative environment
- You are organized with excellent written and verbal communication skills
