Software and Hardware Analyst- 523648
Provides computer support and analysis and oversees the daily operation of the Digital Laboratory located in the School of Architecture.
- Diagnoses system hardware and software operation corrective procedures to restore it to operational standards. Establishes and maintains working digital networks and equipment for 2D and 3D printing and laser cutting.
- Supervises work study students, undergraduate students and graduate assistants in the Digital Laboratory.
- Requests the purchase of necessary materials, equipment, and repairs to maintain optimal operation of the lab. Investigates and solves minor equipment and software problems.
- Performs initial hardware and software setups for computers and associated peripherals, including 2D printers, 3D printers, laser cutters, and other peripherals. Trains employees in the safe use of equipment, software applications, and systems. Performs routine management of print and laser cutting queues. Reviews requests for printer and laser cutting.
- Develops and implements operating policies and procedures for the labs as assigned. Performs initial maintenance of configuration of system hardware and software to meet the Department’s standards.
- Serves as an University card user for departmental transactions. Adheres to University credit card policies and procedures.
- Performs other related duties as required or as directed. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree and one (1) year of experience in Customer Service, IT Procurement, or related field. OR an equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience.
Departmental Requirements:
- Experience with system hardware and software operations.
- Experience working with 2D and 3D printers.
- Experience with vendor relations.
