Job Description
Allen Saunders Design is looking for a passionate individual who is enthusiastic about the opportunity to join and advance with a dynamic and growing design firm.
The Senior Interior Designer will work as a collaborative team member developing projects within the Design Studio. They will be responsible for the interior development of projects from conceptualization, design development, and construction documentation through execution in the field.
The Senior Interior Designer will be responsible for selection and specification of interior finishes, fixtures and soft goods (furnishings) throughout projects.
A successful candidate will be a self-motivated leader, with a positive attitude, excellent organizational skills and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Develop Design Presentations
- Research, source and specify architectural & interior finish products, plumbing fixtures & accessories, appliances, and hardware as well as furnishings and lighting
- Research, source and specify architectural soft goods (furnishings, floor coverings, lighting, etc) for purchasing by ASD
- Coordinate with ASD design team for integration of selected finishes and materials into drawings
- Coordinate with vendors to facilitate selection, pricing, specification, purchasing and installation
- Complete client purchasing of soft goods, including developing proposals, purchase orders, coordinating vendor payments, and coordination of storage and delivery/installation
- Team member on the development of schematic / conceptual design presentation drawings
- Design drawings for custom furnishings and millwork
Necessary Skills
- Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to convey project information to coworkers, clients, and vendors
- Excellent graphic, written and verbal communication skills
- Well versed in the latest design, lifestyle, furnishings, art, and technology trends, and how they can be expressed in Studio projects
- Advanced skillset regarding interior design, custom millwork and furniture detailing
- Thorough knowledge of architectural finishes, interior design products, industry standards and Codes
Requirements, Experience, and Education
- Minimum 7 years of experience in an interior design or architectural practice in high end residential, commercial and/or hospitality projects
- Bachelor or Master degree in Interior Design or Architecture from an accredited institution
- Licensure or Registration as an Interior Designer or an Architect is not required, but is a plus
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite Software (Photoshop, InDesign)
- Experience in Studio Designer Software
- Experience in AutoCAD
- Sketchup, REVIT or 3D Modeling experience is a plus
- Fluent in English, with strong verbal & written communication skills. Additional languages a plus
- Legally eligible to work in the United States without employer sponsorship
