Palace Acquire (PAQ) program for those with or approaching a degree in Architecture or related discipline.

Civilian Air Force Architects are responsible for the planning, design, construction and maintenance of the Air Force’s largest weapon system —its installations.

This is not a military position. Civilian Architects are critical members of our team, providing the diverse expertise and leadership needed to secure our nation’s defense.

The Air Force is providing opportunities for full-time employment for recent and upcoming graduates. The PAQ program assigns you to an Air Force Installation and provides two years of formal and on-the-job training to expose you to all aspects of an Air Force career as an Architect.  You will work shoulder to shoulder with current Architects and other professionals including military and civilians. You will make a real contribution to the mission of the United States Air Force (USAF) and gain invaluable real-world experience.

After two or three years working with the Air Force you can expect to be earning $76,721 to $93,587 depending on location. From there, further advancement is very likely if you are eager, willing to learn, and a hard worker. The program starts architects with a Bachelor’s Degree at $48,488 – $52,759 depending on location. Architects with a Master’s degree start at $59,316 – $64,535 depending on location. A substantial sign-on bonus may also be offered.

Upon successful completion of the PAQ program, you will be outplaced as a mid-level Architect in the Air Force Civilian Workforce. A full-time PAQ job offer includes a career development plan, competitive salary, annual non-competitive promotions while in the program, student loan repayment plan for undergraduate loans, tuition reimbursement/assistance for Master’s degree and all the benefits Federal employees enjoy: 10 paid holidays, 13 paid vacation days (increasing to 26), paid sick leave, flexible schedules at many locations, health insurance plans, retirement plan, and matching Thrift Savings Plan (similar to a 401K).

Requirements:

  • US Citizenship
  • Current student graduating no later than June 2021 or recent graduate (within last two years)
  • Minimum GPA of 2.95 on a 4.0 grading scale
  • Ability to obtain and maintain security clearance (Air Force will fund the clearance after offer is made)

Positions are available at multiple installations in the United States.
