CONSTRUCTION PROJECT ENGINEER

JOB DESCRIPTION:

• Assist the project team (Project Executive, Project Mangers, Superintendents, etc.) with the administration and coordination of the following project tasks:

  • Administration and coordination of the turnkey construction of commercial and residential projects
  • Review, coordination, and distribution of plans and contract documents
  • Estimate construction costs, establish scopes of work, perform quantitative takeoffs, distribute bid documents, and analyze bids
  • Ensuring deadlines and projected costs are met
  • Procure contracts, and negotiate contractual agreements with suppliers and subcontractors
  • Review and approve invoices, and generate monthly applications for payment for issuance to the client
  • Maintain strict adherence to budgetary guidelines, quality assurance, and safety standards
  • Monitor and maintain the construction project schedule
  • Act as a liaison between the clients, design team, construction team, and field superintendent to facilitate communication, decision-making, and problem solving
  • Ensure all applicable permits, licenses, and insurances have been obtained
  • Make periodic visits to project sites
  • Manage completion of punch list and project close-out

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Degree in construction management, architecture, engineering, real estate development, or finance preferred
  • General knowledge of construction means & methods, scheduling and cost control procedures, general conditions, subcontract documents, drawings, and specifications
  • Extraordinary communication skills
  • Strong work ethic as well as a firm commitment to the highest quality standards
