CARTA’s School of Architecture programs were ranked among U.S. public institutions as one of the best, according to the 2022 QS World Rankings by Subject report. It is one of only two schools in Florida to be ranked.

Architecture ranked #16 in their category among public universities, climbing from #17 in 2021. This is the highest ranking for the school since its establishment and places us as one of the highest-ranked young Schools of Architecture nationwide.

“I couldn’t be prouder of my colleagues and of the impacts they continue to make each and every day — locally, nationally, and globally,” said Brian Schriner, dean of the College of Communication, Architecture + The Arts. “Founded only 25 years ago, this year’s ranking builds upon last year’s Top 20 national ranking, further acknowledging the continued leadership, expertise, and innovation of our FIU School of Architecture’s faculty, students, professional staff, and alumni.”

The rankings, compiled by global higher education analysts Quacquarelli Symonds (QS), were calculated based on three main components: academic reputation, research impact, and employer reputation. Using these metrics, they determine the performances of institutions across the country.

Twelve FIU programs were ranked in the top 50 among public universities for 2022 by QS World Rankings.

“FIU’s programs continue to be recognized for their innovative curricula that challenges our students and prepares them to thrive in their professional capacity,” said Elizabeth Béjar, FIU interim provost, executive vice president and chief operating officer. “Our focus on student-centered learning, upward mobility and excellence as a research university have made an impact in our students’ lives.”
