The Major Capital Projects Associates Program is a unique program and distinctive opportunity within the Major Capital Projects (MCP) Department at The Port Authority of New York & New Jersey. MCP is responsible for the design and construction delivery of the Port Authority Bus Terminal, World Trade Center site, the Cross Harbor Freight Program, construction management of the core and shell of the new Hudson Tunnels for the Gateway Development Commission, and management of World Trade Center Department contracts and other projects assigned to it. 

The MCP Associates Program is a two-year rotational program designed for recent and soon-to-be bachelor’s or master’s graduates. As an Associate, you would have frequent opportunities to work alongside seasoned professionals helping you develop your professional credentials while giving you the opportunity to serve the public and improve the region’s transportation infrastructure. Associates also have numerous educational and professional development opportunities, trainings, mentoring programs, and frequent opportunities to work alongside senior management.

Responsibilities:

  • Associates spend their first year rotating across MCP units, completing a series of work assignments
  • Associates spend their second year working a permanent MCP assignment
  • Learn aspects of projects involving Port Authority Bus Terminal, World Trade Center, Cross Harbor Freight Tunnel, and Gateway Development Commission

Qualifications:

  • Recent (Fall 2022 or shortly before) or soon-to-be (before July 2023)
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Accounting, Architecture, Construction Management, Engineering (Civil, Electrical/Power, Electronics, Environmental, Geotechnical, Materials, Mechanical, Structural, Safety, Traffic, and Urban), Finance, History, Law, Supply Chain Management, or related discipline
  • Clear interest in public service
  • Computer skills
