Passero Associates has an exciting opportunity for an entry level GIS Analyst in our Rochester, NY office to work on a diverse range of assignments supporting our municipal and land development service lines, as well as provide technical support to our architectural and aviation practice areas.
Responsibilities:
· Assist in the development, implementation, coordination, and creation of company technical standards for the use of GIS.
· Conduct basic technical research to support the company in responding to proposals and municipal/regulatory needs, including data and geospatial analysis, mapping, graphics.
· Assist with database administration and upkeep of company GIS data in accordance with technical standards.
· Create digital and print presentation materials.
· Data acquisition and the creation of maps, figures, or other deliverables as needed to assist with the preparation of forms, reports, and applications.
· Assist with the preparation of forms, reports, and land use applications as needed.
· Assist with field data collection as needed.
Knowledge, Skills, and Qualifications
· Proficient in ESRI GIS products, Windows environment, and related hardware required. Familiarity with applications, such as AutoCAD, Revit, and Microsoft Suite required.
· Strong organizational, analytical and research skills.
· Key skills include creative problem solving and decision-making skills, excellent technical writing skills, and solid verbal and written communication skills.
· Excellent people skills, self-motivation, and ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
· Technical aptitude in responding to clients’ needs with GIS-based solutions.
Qualifications/ Experience:
· Bachelor’s degree in computer science, geography, planning, engineering, environmental, architecture, or related field.
· Minimum of 0 to 2 years of practical experience in aspects of site planning, civil engineering, building construction, architectural design review, zoning codes, and general rules and procedures of land use boards and commissions helpful, but not required.
· Computer proficiency includes Microsoft Office suite, and general knowledge of ESRI (ArcGIS, ArcView, ArcInfo), MS SQL and programming languages.
· Ability to interact effectively with clients, project teams, and colleagues internally and externally.
