Position 1: The Low Gravity Exploration Technology Branch utilizes access to reduced gravity to expand our understanding of physical phenomena of importance to life on earth and exploration. The selectee for this position will support our research program in either the behavior of soft matter (colloidal or granular systems) or fluid physics in reduced gravity using our access to reduced gravity drop towers or space experiments.

Position 2: The NASA Glenn Icing Branch has an opening for a Pathway’s Intern starting in January 2024. NASA’s icing research encompasses a broad range of activities from basic icing physics to highly applied solutions that help aircraft fly safely into or avoid icing conditions. We are looking for someone studying Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering (including graduate students), who will assist in the design, planning, running, analyzing, and reporting of various experiments conducted by the branch. These experiments can occur in one of a variety of icing test facilities such as the NASA Icing Research Tunnel or new Adaptive Icing Tunnel. Position 3: Pathways Electrical Engineering major to work with mentor(s) on team projects requiring signal processing and wireless/radio frequency (rf) communications competency. Knowledge and skills preferable include rf and signal processing theory and implementation, software development tools (MATLAB, Python, VHDL, C++), hardware testing and development. Principal laboratory work to be performed in GRC’s new Aerospace Communications Facility, opened in August 2023. Projections for increasing GRC roles in lunar surface communications and advanced air mobility communications. NASA continues to plan for interoperable Government and commercial networks utilizing a flexible, scalable architecture to achieve future NASA communications and navigation services for Near Earth, Lunar Exploration, and Science missions.

Position 4: Glenn Research Center is seeking an Intern for the Strategic Planning Branch to work under the direction of a Project Planner to complete various technical and non-technical tasks across a wide range of disciplines. The intern will be exposed to multiple mission and research areas and work with subject matter experts throughout our Center. The internship will involve a wide range of project development and planning tasks such as developing project requirements, design, analytics, and funding advocacy to assist in completing federal projects within our two campuses. Day to day activities may include working with NASA stakeholders to produce conceptual development designs for projects in multiple disciplines, master plan documents, research and data collection, land use application, environmental compliance, and report preparation.
This internship would provide opportunity to grow and learn about federal regulations and project planning and implementation doing tasks within the following areas:
· Conduct research and analysis of federal and municipal codes.
· Produce required planning documents for project implementation.
· Prepare master/specific plans.
· Conceptual design.
· Environmental documents, and other required planning documents for various projects.
· Use of ACAD, Photoshop, Sketchup, In-Design are programs to be used to create the required designs.
· Create maps, analysis and implementation, web-based systems utilizing Geographic Information Systems (GIS).
· Prepare required documents, plans, ordinances as required by various federal and city planning agreements.
· Provide required graphic design details/documents for various projects
