Yuyang Cheng

Yuyang Cheng is an architect, interactive artist, and interdisciplinary designer. She is currently a candidate for the Doctor of Design (DDes) program at the School of Architecture at Florida International University (FIU). She is also an Assistant Professor at the Central Academy of Fine Art (CAFA), where she teaches first year courses in the school of design. She is also responsible for curriculum design and teaching on the “Parametric Nature” program. Yuyang’s research and creative practice involve urban morphogenetic design with biomaterials and interactive performance design. Her interdisciplinary research focuses on the design of eco-cities using biomaterials and artificial intelligence technologies. She has studied architecture in China (CAFA), Europe (KADK) and the United Kingdom. Yuyang’s work has been recognized internationally, and she has been the recipient of many awards, including the 2017 Crystal Qilin display art design award in China, and 2016 Graphic Award, Gold Prize from the United States. She has been invited to exhibit her work in exhibitions of art and design at various institutions such as the Young Artists Exhibition at the British Embassy in China, DigitalFUTURES online forum, 3D Printed Body Architecture in Shanghai, Central Academy of Fine Arts Gallery, UCL, ToMaster Public Art Exhibition in Shanghai, Lighthouse Art Festival, ExperiMental Video Works exhibition, CAFA and Tencent Cultural and Creative Arts Festival Sky Box Exhibition in China.
