Jose Mejias

José David Mejías Morales is a candidate on the DDes program at FIU School of Architecture. He is interested in design, politics, and post-colonial studies, and his DDes research focuses on architecture as evidence of the colonial relationship between the USA and Puerto Rico. He is a design professor and former Director of Architecture Academic Programs at Ana G. Méndez University Department of Design and Architecture. José holds a Bachelor of Architecture from the Pontifical Catholic University of Puerto Rico School of Architecture and Design, where he graduated with minor concentrations in law and urbanism. He continued his postgraduate studies at SCI-Arc, earning a Master of Science in Architectural Technologies. He is also a NCARB registered architect with professional experience in residential, commercial, healthcare, and mixed-use projects in California (USA) and Puerto Rico. He is also a LEED Accredited Professional and holds various certifications from the Construction Specifications Institute.
