Lorena Knezevic is a licensed architect with LEED AP credentials. Currently, she is pursuing her Doctor of Design degree at Florida International University (FIU). Her educational background includes a Bachelor of Architecture and a Master of Science in Architecture, both acquired from the University of Miami. Her thesis on "The Architecture of Augmented Reality (AR)”, was a milestone in her academic journey. This work led to her becoming a panelist at the renowned MIT Media Lab AR in Action Summit, where she shared her thoughts on the AR’s effect on architectural design.

Lorena has worked at prestigious architectural firms such as Perkins & Will Miami and Gensler Miami. Her role as an architect and researcher emphasizes the intersections of the virtual and physical dimensions in the design industry and connecting academic knowledge with practice. This passion earned her an invitation to the Milan Design Week Hackathon hosted by Dassault Systems, where she experimented with Augmented Reality (AR) and VR technologies and beta-tested software.

Lorena’s current research interest is in the integration of artificial intelligence in AR/VR design. She aspires to equip architects with the tools to guide spatial design seamlessly between the tangible and digital realms.
