Ayxa Arechavaleta
Adjunct Professor

Ayxa Arechavaleta is an emerging architect and educator based in Miami, working as a design associate at Studio Roberto Rovira, a practice focused on landscape and urban design across South Florida. Her work integrates ecological urbanism, biomimicry, and sustainable design strategies to create resilient, engaging public spaces.

An FIU alumna and recent graduate, much of Arechavaleta’s portfolio originated during her student years through research-driven studios and public exhibitions—such as City X Ecology—that explore the intersection of design, technology, and environmental stewardship. Her professional experience spans design, construction supervision, and facilities coordination, as well as research in digital fabrication, BIM, and 3D printing.

As an Adjunct Lecturer at FIU, she fosters iterative, inquiry-based learning, connecting environmental analysis with contemporary design tools and representation.
