Rocío Martínez
Adjunct Professor

Rocío Martínez is a registered landscape architect and a visual artist. She has worked in both architecture and landscape architecture firms, locally and internationally, gaining professional experience across a broad range of projects. After years of practice, she founded Tropico Design Studio, a Miami-based landscape architecture firm, where she serves as Principal. Additionally, she is an adjunct lecturer in the Departments of Architecture and Landscape Architecture at Florida International University, where she currently teaches Design Studio.

Driven by her interest in sustainable design, she serves as a member of the Florida ASLA Biodiversity and Climate Action Committee and is an accredited LEED Green Associate. Passionate about creativity and innovation, she has spoken on multiple occasions about the applications of generative AI in landscape architecture and design.

Rocío holds an MLA from the Polytechnic University of Catalonia in Spain and a BArch from the National University Pedro Henríquez Ureña in the Dominican Republic, where she is a Registered Architect.
