Westminster Public Schools seeks a Graphics Designer/Marketing Manager. SUMMARY: The Graphics Designer / Marketing Manager will develop and implement comprehensive marketing and communications plans that support enrollment objectives in high-priority schools. In addition, the Manager will assist in the development and execution of a district-wide communications strategy. Success will be measured by school enrollment, district-wide enrollment and principal satisfaction surveys. The position includes an operating budget to allow for support from professional copywriters, designers, agencies, etc. to market schools.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
*Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Graphics Design, or similar field.
*Three years of work-related experience in strategic communications, marketing, media relations, graphics/digital designing and/or internal communications required. May be asked to share a portfolio of designs and accomplishments during interview.
*Understanding of the digital and print requirements for formatting.
*Understanding of layout, design, and typography.
*Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
*Experience using Canva
*Background in content creation for social media channels
*Familiarity with online advertising (Facebook Ads, Google Ads, etc.)
*Strong creative skills to develop messaging and visual concepts that will move stakeholders to action.
*Exceptional written and verbal communications skill, as well as experience with tailoring messaging to a variety of audiences, including families for whom English is not their first language.
*Strategic planning experience, especially in the development of marketing plans.
*Experience and relationships with independent contractors and agencies to support the development of creative.
*Event-planning experience.
*Strong client-service, collaboration and entrepreneurial skills.
*Colorado driver’s license and reliable transportation to travel to and from schools throughout Westminster Public Schools (primarily in Westminster, CO).
*Specific K-12 communications experience desired.
*Bilingual in Spanish and English desired.
*Highly proficient in computer skills.
*Operating knowledge of PC, computer software (Excel) and word processing software (Word).
*Advanced knowledge of pK-12 central office administration procedures and practices.
*Advanced oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
*Ability to promote and follow Board of Education policies, building and department procedures.
*Ability to communicate, interact and work effectively and cooperatively with all people, including those from diverse ethnic and educational backgrounds. Willingness to contribute to cultural diversity for educational enrichment.
*Ability to recognize the importance of safety in the workplace, follow safety rules, practice safe work habits, utilize appropriate safety equipment and report unsafe conditions to the appropriate administrator.
*Personal computer and keyboarding skills.
*Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
*Ability to maintain confidentiality in all aspects of the job.
*Knowledge of-media formats used on the internet and television

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
*Work with the Director of Communications and Community Relations to prioritize schools for varying levels of marketing and communications support. Consult with school leaders to develop marketing and communications plans and determine appropriate resources to support student enrollment objectives.
*Provide direct support to high-priority schools, including professional consultation related to branding, marketing collateral, student
recruitment and retention strategies, website design and development, social media, media relations, event-based marketing and
internal communications.
*Assist the Director of Communications and Community Relations with district-wide communications, occasionally in
collaboration with a marketing consultant.
*Support the priorities of the Communications Office, including the creation of print and electronic brochures, posters, newsletters, etc.
*Perform other duties as assigned.
