The Art and Culture Center/Hollywood Arts Apprentice Internship program is for young adults aged 18-25 who are looking to explore careers in the areas of Education, Communications, Exhibitions and Curation. As one of the oldest major cultural institutions in Broward, the Art and Culture Center offers interns the opportunity to blend classroom theory with real world practice, build their resumes, and network within the non-profit sector. Arts Apprentices have the chance to work alongside accomplished leaders each with at least 20 years of experience in their respected field during their internship. Arts Apprentice Education Internship

Hours per week: 8 to 10 hrs, with occasional evening and weekend event participation required   

Payment: Stipend

Start and End Date: October 2021 – May 2022

 

Qualifications: 

  • Required to pass a Level II Background check 
  • Must communicate with diverse audiences in a professional, friendly manner
  • Enjoy working with young children
  • Passion for creative problem-solving
  • Enthusiasm for experimenting with art materials and handiwork
  • Informal experience in visual and performing arts is helpful
  • Enrollment in a degree-seeking program related to Education, Communications, Exhibitions and Curation is a plus 

 

Learning Outcomes:

  • Assist the Education team with the planning and development of the Center’s youth programming
  • Support as a Teaching Assistant for the Center’s Spring Break Camp
  • Utilize technology to research, archive resources and communicate within the Education Department
