Supervised by: Artistic Director

Minimum Qualifications: Hiring subject to applicable URJ and Pennsylvania State background checks.

Calm under pressure with a proven track record of excellent organizational and communications skills; comfort in managing multiple projects with and for multiple stakeholders. College graduate or the equivalent, with training and experience in The Arts and Arts Education, curriculum development, ability to guide and encourage new generations of artists and a direct a team of staff and faculty. Must be able to demonstrate flexibility, manage multiple responsibilities at once and work as part of a team. An advanced degree is a plus. Love and/or respect for The Arts and a diverse community is a must. 21 years of age by June 1, 2022.

Responsibilities

JEWISH

  • Collaborate with the JLife Director and Artistic Director on the integration of Judaic content into all Arts programming, included but not limited to implementation of the summer theme and core values
  • In partnership with the JLife Director and Artistic Director, lead Shabbat prep in your discipline
  • Assist with arts specific set up and breakdown for Shabbat evening
  • Actively participate and demonstrate respect in ritual moments
  • Incorporate core values and summer theme in meaningful and appropriate ways

ARTS

  • With support from the Artistic Director, create and teach two independent two-week (8-course periods) curricula in your discipline, (the overall process of the Musical Theatre Intensive for the MTI Arts Mentor). The curricula must be focused on both process (skill-building) and product (performance) and able to be scaled for age-group and allotted time.
  • Connect with campers (Olim and Gesher via phone or Zoom; Bonim and Shoreshim via email) to discuss their personal goals and goals of the program prior to camp session they are attending
  • Coordinate with Summer Operations Director and Artistic Director on all programmatic needs including but not limited to:
  • Supply requests
  • Maintain accurate inventory
  • Set-up and break-down
  • AV needs
  • Suggest visiting artists in your discipline for virtual or on-site master classes as allowed
  • Participate in all technical aspects of Showcase and/or Musical Theatre intensive with the Artistic Director and Westtown Technical Theatre Liaison, including but not limited to
  • Lighting and set design
  • Paper tech, dress tech and final tech
  • Work with Summer Operations Director and Artistic Director to obtain appropriate licensing for copyrighted material
  • Support campers in their skills training and artistic growth
  • Cheer at showcase

CAMP

  • Actively participate and encourage others in camp activities
  • Contribute to the overall positive morale of the camp community
  • Maintain strict confidentiality
  • Other responsibilities as needed
