Hayworth is enthusiastic to engage a self-motivated independent contractor with expertise in social media with enthusiasm to learn public relations skills and written communications. Hayworth seeks to engage an associate in a part-time capacity to support our fast-paced, energetic, and dynamic work environment in the artist management, cultural programming, public relations, and digital marketing sector. Participants will collaborate directly to our Founder + CEO and assist with this growing company and its exciting roster of clients in the art and design arena. Roles and responsibilities include ongoing social media account management, digital marketing (including newsletter generation and social media content development), and media relations, pitching, and press material development.

 

Hayworth is a strategic consultancy committed to promoting intrepid ideas at the intersection of art and design founded by Ellie Hayworth. Our wheelhouse lies in communications artist management, nomadic curatorial initiatives, speaking engagements, cultural programming, and workshops. 

 

Candidates should be polished, professional, and self-motivated, with a strategic eye for artistic merit and brand “voice”. Candidates require impeccable visual, written, and verbal communications skills, demonstrate strong business instincts, professional discretion, and have experience creating and researching content across social media and digital marketing channels, as well as editorial media. Qualified candidates harbor an astute sense of the goings-on in the contemporary art, culture, and consumer brand space.

 

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

— Ongoing development and implementation of graphic design needs including development of look-books, press portfolios, dossiers, and artist catalogues. Candidates should be creative and proactive in helping envision cutting-edge design materials that support the stories we seek to communicate to the public and the media alike.

 

— Assist with the ongoing marketing of Hayworth’s projects, including formatting newsletters, preparing research-driven pitch lists, overseeing strategic outreach to collectors, advisors, curators, and arts professionals, assisting with material development such as project decks and press releases

 

— Coordinate with the founder of Hayworth to review and approve any outreach, posts, content, correspondence, and strategy for all public-facing social media and digital marketing activities

 

— May occasionally require supporting the founder in event planning, programming management logistics, and on-site event management and ambassadorship

 

— Participate in regularly scheduled feedback meetings with the founder to analyze traction and outline ongoing strategy

 

 

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION

 

— Applicants across undergraduate, graduate, and post-graduate levels welcome

— Fluency in content creation and graphic design software such as Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop required; familiarity with design platforms/apps like Canva preferred.

 

— Fluency in digital marketing management platforms like Constant Contact, Squarespace, and Cargo Collective required; familiarity with social media content management platforms like Later or Hootsuite preferred

 

— Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Google Docs is required

 

— Proficiency in the contemporary art market and/or educational experience in Studio Art, Art History, Contemporary Art, Visual Arts Administration, Art Business, Public Relations, Communications, and/or Marketing preferred
