As a Short Form Video Creator & Coordinator at Online Optimism, you’re responsible for crafting multimedia that engages, educates, and informs audiences on our client’s behalf, as part of our social media department. In addition, you’ll coordinate with influencers and report to clients on results to further optimize their campaigns.

Your main job duties will be centered around creating content for TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, and any other platforms that require content on mobile devices. You’ll be expected to create content in a variety of styles, including commercial, informative, documentary, and of course: memes. A knowledge of constantly changing trends, and the ability to edit videos quickly that make viewers go “woah” is key. You should be comfortable appearing on camera for our clients (we promise, they’re pretty cool clients.) In addition, you’ll be be responsible for coordinating influencers to create short-form content for our clients, as well as reporting and optimizing your campaigns.

Our ideal candidate will have experience providing similar content in a professional setting with a marketing/creative background, but we’re open to any candidate that thinks this position is the right fit. 

While we allow for a hybrid work environment, we are requiring employees for this position to be based in New Orleans, LA, where our creative studio is. While you can choose where you work each day (at home or in the office,) we’ll expect you to come into our offices, or visit local clients, 2 to 10 times per month. In addition, you may be asked to travel to clients outside Louisiana once or twice per month.

JOB DESCRIPTION

The role will be:

  • 60% short form content creation for client and internal accounts, across TikTok, Shorts, Reels, and any future platforms that feature mobile-first video content.
  • 15% managing & coordinating influencers for client campaigns.
  • 15% reporting and analysis to clients on your content results, to optimize future campaigns.
  • 10% Always optimizing, to improve our social media team’s short-form video results.

We also expect that the candidate will grow in their role depending on their needs/long term goals, adding on responsibilities in account management, video editing, graphic design, or whatever the next big thing in social media needs.

A breakdown of your expected job duties is below:

SHORT FORM CONTENT CREATION

  • Produce on your own content for clients across industries, including hospitality, retail, B2B, B2C, and more.
  • Quickly develop on-the-fly, branded content for clients based off what’s trending today.
  • Develop bigger ideas for very small screens by planning more elaborate content for high-value clients that truly wows their audience.
  • Edit videos thorough a variety of apps, or Adobe CC, or whichever tools you prefer.
  • Collaborate with our social media and Operations teams to build an inventory of props for our Creative Studio to produce immediate, trending content in the future, as best as possible.
  • Collaborate with all departments, particularly social and our creative team, giving and accepting feedback, to improve the agency’s overall performance.

MANAGING & COORDINATING INFLUENCERS

  • Research potential influencers to identify valuable sources of UGC for our clients.
  • Schedule, Coordinate, and handle logistics of influencer outreach.
  • Monitoring influencer content for reporting.
  • Spotlight opportunities for influencers to amplify campaign results.

REPORTING & ANALYSIS TO CLIENTS

  • Communicating directly with clients to explain your video ideas, and report on the results of previous content strategies for them.
  • Working in-person with New Orleans, and national clients, to handle on-site production for short-form content needs.

ALWAYS OPTIMIZING

  • Suggest ideas, explore new tools, and take initiative to increase Online Optimism’s social media work.
