JOB SUMMARY: The show set design intern is responsible for assisting the Show Set Designer and Production Designer with ensuring show set drawings are kept updated in coordination with the facilities team, the GC, and vendors. The intern will learn from our designers, art director and creative director, as they provide guidance on assignments. The intern will experience what it is like to respond to changing conditions as vendors develop their designs and construction/installation continues on site.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Works with Show Set Designed and Production Design on updating CAD drawings that will be released to pertinent vendors and the GC.
  • Assists with 3D modeling to help with coordination of Ride/Show and Facility teams.
  • Gathers pertinent reference imagery, in coordination with art and creative director, to provide to vendors.
  • Updates artwork as needed.
  • Understands and actively participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training, and Team Member involvement activities.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION: 

  • In pursuit of an Associate, Bachelor or Graduate degree at an Accredited Institution with current class standing of Junior or above.
  • Recent graduates will not be eligible for this program.
  • Minimum cumulative 3.0 GPA is preferred. 
  • An official transcript may be required upon request.
  • Preferred majors include: Themed Entertainment Design, Architectural Design.

EXPERIENCE: Prior internship experience related to position is preferred.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

Preferable skills for success in role include but not limited to:

  • AutoCAD experience required
  • 3DS Max, Maya, Photoshop, Illustrator experience preferred
  • Must be efficient in Microsoft Office Programs including, but not limited to: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, problem-solving abilities and organization. 
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Superior written & verbal communication skills.
  • Work in a fast-paced environment and adhere to deadlines.
  • Ability to work autonomously and/or in teams.
  • Consistent attendance.

  • This internship will be an in-person experience, based in our Orlando offices.
  • Interns must be currently pursuing a degree at an accredited university, and must have a graduation date later than December 2023.
