Helen Burgos was born in Hampshire, England. She attended West Sussex College of Design and Goldsmith’s College, University of London , receiving a Bachelor’s degree in Art and Dance. After relocating to Miami she attended Florida International University earning a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree in Fine Art. Helen has twenty-eight years of experience teaching Art at various Institutions in the Miami area, including Miami Dade College, Wolfson campus, The Museum of Contemporary Art in North Miami and Florida International University where she has taught since 2001. Her backgrounds in Dance and Painting/Drawing inform and find expression in her love of teaching Figure Drawing. Helen’s personal Artistic practice includes working with charcoal, collage, fibers and paint. Her work has been exhibited in such places as the Chrysler Museum in Norfolk, Virginia, The Noboa Museum, Guayaquil, Ecuador, The Atlantic Center for the Arts, FL, The Ambrosino Gallery, Miami and Miami Beach Public Library.
