Eduardo Lacayo

Eduardo “Eddie” Lacayo was born in Managua, Nicaragua in, 1969. He came to Miami as a young adult and graduated from Miami Dade Community College with an AA degree in Architecture. He continued his studies at Florida International University from where he obtained a Bachelor of Fine Arts and a Master of Science in Art Education. Later, he completed an Educational Specialist degree at NOVA Southeastern University. He presently teaches art in the Miami-Dade Public School system where he has also created several murals at different schools. He is an active artist in the community and his works are on display in private collections including the Florida International University Ronald Reagan Presidential House. Eduardo is also an adjunct professor at FIU. Lacayo’s Artwork is about his special moment, experiences, and dreams that built his life. His paintings become a visual record of his moods, feelings, and ideas. He believes that art can not compare to the beauty of nature, but nature cannot be compared to the beauty of a brush stroke"
