INSTALLATIONS FOR POLLINATORS
 

Last week, the students of the Architecture Masters Project Seminar, under the guidance of Professor Eric Goldemberg and Teaching Assistant Cristina Brcek, showcased their cutting-edge projects at The Kampong of National Tropical Botanical Gardens. Following the presentations, a unique concert was held featuring musical instruments crafted by Monad Studio, adding a harmonious touch to this celebration of design and creativity. FIU’S JEROME MCCOY ACCEPTED INTO THE CELEBRATED NEW YORK STRING ORCHESTRA SEMINAR
 

We’re thrilled to announce that Jerome McCoy, a viola student under the guidance of Teaching Professor Michael Klotz, has achieved a remarkable feat! Jerome, a Graduate Assistant at the FIU Wertheim School of Music, has secured a coveted spot through a highly competitive audition process for the New York String Orchestra Seminar at Carnegie Hall. The process involves two levels of intensive screening through audio and video submissions. This prestigious program includes two concerts conducted by the famed Jaime Laredo, along with chamber music coaching from some of today’s most esteemed artists. Michael Klotz, was chosen to participate in 1997 and 1998.

During Miami Art Week 2023, Dalia Berlin showcased new sculptures at CONTEXT Art Miami during Miami Art Week 2023. Dalia’s Las Meninas Sculptures dazzled at the AC Latin Art Booth. Many of Dalia’s signature pieces draws inspiration from Velazquez, one of the most celebrated masters from her birth country of Spain, and include a reinterpretation of the iconic figure of Las Meninas.

On view through January 19, 2024. We kicked off Miami Art Week in the Washington Gallery for Work Table(au), an architectural exhibition presenting the recent work of Associate Professor Jason R. Chandler, FAIA. Ten projects are displayed on a single “work” table 3-feet-wide by 33 feet long. Each project is represented with design and working drawings, photographs, renderings, and models. Seen in its totality, this collection represents a carefully choreographed exhibition of Professor Chandler’s professional research and his enormous contributions to enhancing the reputation of FIU. Using metal welding and strips of her own bed sheets, Lopera reconstructs the floor plans of her childhood home, capturing the essence of architecture and memories.
