Academic Resources for internships

The School of Communication and FIU have a number of resources available for students:

1.  FIU Career Services

The highly trained staff is dedicated to helping students make career dreams a reality. Career Services offer help in resume writing and critiques, practice interviews, career transition and assessments, among other services to help FIU students and alumni with their career development. 2.  Resume Review

Career and Talent Development Department offers a resume critique/review session to all students. For more information visit FIU Career and Talent Development

3.  Communication Studio

The Communication Studio, staffed with experienced speech instructors, offers coaching for interview preparation, elevator speeches, and presentations to assist students in the job search process. The staff is prepared to assist and coach students with improving body language, speaking more confidently, organizing ideas, reducing anxiety, improving eye contact, and incorporating visual aids to create dynamic and focused presentations.

4.  Life After College Panel

The Life After College Alumni Panel provides valuable advice on life after college from Communication alumni to future Communication alumni. The panel gives students a glimpse of the career paths past alumni have taken, provides advice from alumni as to how to better prepare for the workforce.

The School of Communication is pleased to work with students in obtaining internships designed to provide a real-life, experience based component to their program. They are available for undergraduate students in Advertising, PR and Communication Arts. Graduate students and International Students are also welcome to participate.
