Steven Cruz Lecture- February 23 at 10am
Steven Cruz: Led communication and digital media shop for Libre Foundation. He graduated from Florida International University (FIU) receiving a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations with a concentration in Latin America and Leadership studies as well as a Master of Public Administration degree with a concentration in Business-Government Relations and Crisis Management from The George Washington University.

While at FIU, Cruz worked in the University Office of the President on constituent issues, event management and operations. He joined The LIBRE Initiative in June 2012 as the assistant to the Chief Operating Officer providing strategic and tactical support before joining the communications team as a spokesperson for the organization. Currently, Steven leads LIBRE’s digital media and engagement efforts.

José Dante Parra is a Democratic strategist. Before his current position, Parra was a senior advisor to Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid.

April 5 – Cecilia Almeida Lecture at 10am
Cecilia Almeida is a lawyer for the FDA. She currently deals with litigation regarding miscommunication and misrepresentation. She has worked in law for several government organizations including Social Security and the Department of Justice.

April 11 – Communication Career Bootcamp from 1pm to 3pm at FIU Start UP (will send flyer)
