GreenRoom is looking for a PR intern to join their team in Fall 2017. The intern will help execute PR strategies and meet client needs. This position prepares individuals for a future in Public Relations by providing them with professional agency experience. GreenRoom seeks those who are driven, confident, resourceful, and creative. Duties include: Consistently generate innovative media pitches to garner press coverage; communicate client products during interoffice presentations and to media; formulate PR strategies tailored to client needs; assist Senior Management in the development of client materials; ability to manage multiple accounts and projects for “cross-pitching” efforts; and other duties as assigned. They will gain firsthand experience promoting performances and events, interacting with members of the media and working alongside the professional staff for a major non-profit performing arts organization. Duties include: Assembling press kits and other media material; assisting in research for writing press releases; assembling press/media emails/mailings; escorting photographers; and staffing press events. The Miami Rail is looking for smart, creative individuals who are passionate about arts and culture, and thirsty to learn the ropes of 21st century arts publishing — everything from the editorial process of copy editing and fact checking, to the physical and digital production of a high caliber magazine, website, and social media presence. The Miami Rail is successful because of our “all hands on deck” style of working, besides the responsibilities listed below, you may be asked to pitched in other places as needed. We’re looking to fill three positions for the Fall and Winter season from August through December. The interns will work closely with staff throughout all stages of publication. Duties include: Establishing and enforcing publishing timelines, making sure that all content is delivered on time, in complete form; processing invoices; reviewing and fact-checking articles and content; and reviewing content for grammatical and spelling errors. Explica Media, an Emmy-award winning documentary production company, is now launching a new video project, in partnership with the Miami Herald and PBS, to tell the story of immigrant neighborhoods and the immigrant entrepreneurs who make them thrive. Explica Media is looking for students who have some experience shooting and/or and who would be willing to help them out as paid production assistants or interns. Looking for:  two or three students with experience shooting with DSLRs and/or cinema cameras to help us as production assistants or interns on a documentary videos series about immigration. This is a paid gig.Spanish language ability is a plus but not necessary; would include working with a variety of equipment, including various cameras, sliders, drones, lights, etc.

Tropics Entertainment is looking for interns whose responsibilities include event planning and coordination assistance, as well as assisting with our social media. Events are mostly weddings and corporate parties. Tropics Entertainment has a streamlined process for all our events once the contract is put on a coordinator’s desk. The coordinators attend the events to make sure everything goes smoothly. The company would like interns to initially shadow the coordinators onsite at the events and ultimately be able to work the events independently. The events usually fall on a Saturday, though there is the occasional Friday or Sunday event. Prefers a candidate who is looking for a full-year internship rather than a single semester internship, but both may apply. There is an opportunity to be hired or referred to one of the top planners, venues, etc. that we work with upon completion of the internship.
