FIU BOLD VISITS NYC FOR SECOND ANNUAL AGENCY TOUR

Florida International University’s BOLD club visited New York City for their second annual agency tour. In the midst of the cold weather, our students had the opportunity to tour agencies, gain industry insights, network with communication professionals and have fun in the city that never sleeps. During this visit, our students visited Edelman, Y&R, Miami Ad School, CultHealth, Horizon Media, Grey and Marina Maher Communications. FIU BOLD VISITS WASHINGTON D.C.

Florida International University’s BOLD, a student run communication agency, was given the opportunity to visit our nation’s capital, Washington D.C. They had the chance to meet with agencies, professionals, FIU alumni, and clients. During their stay, BOLD visited Allison and Partners, Kivvit, The Heritage Foundation, The Democratic Campaign Committee, and The House of Representatives. FIU PRSSA HOSTS 1ST ANNUAL PR AGENCY CRAWL

Florida International University’s Public Relations Student Society of America, hosted their first annual PR Agency Crawl. During the event, over twenty students networked with professionals and gained access to exclusive internship opportunities. They visited a total of five strategic communications agencies in the Wynwood/Brickell area: Max Borges Agency, GreenRoom Agency, Quinn PR, Golin and The Workshop Collective. CARTA IN DC HOSTS RECEPTION TO HONOR FIRST COHORT OF INTERNS

On April 25th, CARTA in DC held a reception to honor their first cohort of students who participated in the CARTA in DC Internship program. Some alumni from the FIU School of Communication + Journalism attended and a few guest speakers from the DC area were invited to celebrate and mix together. The College of Communication, Architecture + The Arts (CARTA) in DC works with qualified SCJ students to intern for the semester in Washington DC and work for nationally acclaimed organizations. CARTA IN DC + DC ALUMNI NETWORK PICNIC

The CARTA in DC Communication Department Internship Program is always seeking new organizations to host our fantastic students, and partnering with the FIU Washington, DC Alumni Network is an important part of that initiative. A beautiful Sunday at Washington, DC’s Rock Creek Park was the backdrop for a picnic where alumni and guests shared great summer food and toured a nearby 18th Century millhouse.. CARTA IN DC INTERNS TOUR NATION’S CAPITAL

The Fall contingent of the CARTA in Washington D.C., Communication Department Internship program got a primer that combined classic Schoolhouse Rock flair with the latest D.C. goings-on. On Friday, Sept 21st, Carlos Becerra of FIU in DC and his Legislative Outreach staff led a presentation on Washington inner workings—the legislative process, committees, lobbying, appropriations, and more.
