Diversity, Equity and Inclusion in CARTA

In the Fall of 2020, Dean Brian Schriner convened students, faculty and staff to come up with concrete actions and strategies to increase diversity, equity and inclusion in CARTA. This led to the formation of the CARTA Dean’s DEI Task Force, which advises the dean and leads a variety of DEI initiatives.  
CARTA subscribes to the values of Diversity, Equity and inclusion of Florida International University, and we understand our unique role as communicators, designers and artists to contribute to making CARTA, FIU and our communities places where everyone is valued, safe and no one has to hide or change who they are.
