Welcome to Fall 2024 from Dean Brian Schriner
Dear CARTA Students,
Welcome back to another academic year at the FIU College of Communication, Architecture + The Arts (CARTA)!
I’m excited to share that our College continues to excel and be recognized as one of the nation’s most innovative public institutions. This reflects the remarkable achievements of our students across all our academic units.
Our College stands as a beacon of creativity and excellence. From the visionary design work of our students in the School of Architecture, to the award-winning journalism and media work in the Lee Caplin School of Journalism & Media; from the captivating musical performances from the Herbert and Nicole School of Music & Performing Arts, to the incredible projects and campaigns in the School of Communication; from the thought-provoking work in the Department of Art + Art History, to the outstanding productions in the Department of Theatre.
Our continued commitment to provide you with experiential learning opportunities and to prepare career-ready graduates through immersive experiences remains at the core of our mission. We remain dedicated to providing you with transformative experiences that not only foster your growth, but also equip you with the skills needed to fulfill your dreams and excel in your future careers.
As you embark on this new semester, remember you are part of a vibrant community of scholars, designers, performers, artists, journalists, architects, educators, and thought leaders, in a college where innovation and collaboration drive us to tackle real-world challenges. You are #CARTACreativeForcesAtWork!
This semester, we have many events across the College which I encourage you to join us in attending. Follow CARTA on social media @fiucarta for all the latest news on what’s happening across the College, including my weekly video message every Monday morning, GotAMinute? To show your CARTA Panther Pride, please use the hashtags, #FIUCARTA, #CARTACares, #CARTALeads, and #CARTACreativeForcesAtWork in your own posts.
Here’s to an extraordinary semester ahead!
