Sponsorship is a great opportunity to support student scholarships and program initiatives while earning positive marketing value for your organization, business, or brand. We offer sponsors ways to support our College through both yearlong sponsorships as well as the ability to sponsor individual events. We accept both in-kind and monetary donations. Make sure to consult your tax advisor to determine the tax deductibility of your gift.

Different sponsorship packets have been designed to suite a range of budgets. We offer many ways for your business to be involved. For example, you can choose between sponsoring a single event or a season of performances.

We look forward to helping you meet your marketing needs!

Events

During the academic year, the College of Communication, Architecture + The Arts hosts signature events for the purposes of recruiting and retaining our students.

Walk on Water15049145594_d31074b138_k

The annual Walk on Water competition celebrates innovation and creativity among architecture students. It is a race founded by Professor Jaime Canaves, who has orchestrated the event for more than 25 years. Each student designs and constructs shoes that will allow him/her to walk the length of the Green Lake in the heart of the Modesto A. Maidique Campus. Awards are given to first, second, and third place winners and this year the competition is open to university students outside of FIU. The event is attended by students, faculty, staff, alumni, and media who watch with excitement.

Festival of the Trees

The Festival of the Trees and auction is a fundraising event hosted by the Interior Architecture Department and its advisory board. Each year, South Florida’s architecture and design community demonstrates its support for quality interior architecture education through their annual participation. This holiday extravaganza has raised over $200,000 in funds that benefit Florida International University’s Interior Architecture Department and its talented students. Festival of the Trees sponsors underwrite designers who design and build their unique holiday creations and donate them to the event. The “trees” are then displayed and auctioned at the gala opening and later exhibited at Dadeland Mall. The lucky winning bidders take these extraordinary creations and use them for holiday decorations in either their homes or offices. For more information, please click here.

Lecture Series

In the fall and spring, we host lecture series in the different disciplines to talk to students, providing real-world advice and information on trends in their given industry as well as the economy. This gives our students the necessary edge to build a successful career in the professional marketplace.

In addition to these events and initiatives, we also host art exhibitions, musical concerts, and theatre performances. All these events play an important part in the experiences we provide to our students so they have a world class education. There is a great necessity to enhance these events and to have the potential to offer additional events in the future.

If you are interested in sponsoring any of these annual events and initiatives, please contact Maria G. Claverie (305) 348-1805 or mgclaver@fiu.edu.
