Global Strategic Communication – Creative Track
In order to reflect its commitment to advancing the future of the advertising industry, the FIU School of Communication + Journalism (SCJ) extends its Global Strategic Communications (GSC) program by offering a Creative Track option that focuses on developing a global perspective in strategic communications through the development of trained art directors and copywriters. The program’s high graduation rate reassures students that they will succeed in obtaining a Master of Science in Mass Communication.
This program is specifically designed for creative students who have completed an undergraduate degree from an accredited academic institution and desire to pursue a graduate degree that combines advanced courses in creative art direction and copywriting skills with the in-depth study of creative strategy, research and communications theories in the field of advertising.
The FIU SCJ GSC creative track graduate program creative track consists of 39 course credits of a unique, advanced and specially designed curriculum in conjunction with the world renowned Miami Ad School. For the past years, Miami Ad School has been ranked by the Gunn Report, the top advertising ranking authority globally, as the best advertising school in the world based on the quality of the awards received by the grad students across all our advertising schools.
Course work takes place at both campuses, FIU North and Miami Ad School. Students who are accepted in the program will learn advanced art direction and copywriting skills grounded on a solid understanding of communications theory, global and multicultural consumers, research methods, and creative strategies via courses that are taught by professors who are well-versed in the practices and technologies used in today’s top advertising agencies.
The 39-semester credit, lock-step program is completed in five consecutive semesters, including summers (19 months). Given the intensity of the program, students are strongly advised and recommended not to work. In addition, there is no flexible-curriculum available as the school enrolls and selects the schedules for the students by cohorts.
Students will complete seven courses at the FIU Biscayne Campus and six courses at MAS Wynwood. Being that the two schools are approximately 14 miles away from each other, it is strongly recommended that students have access to a car. The programs are located at the following addresses:
FIU – 3000 NE 151 Street, North Miami, Florida
MAS – 571 NW 28th Street, Miami, Florida
