7 Ways To Stay Creative

7 Ways To Stay Creative

When you are young you are filled with creativity and your imagination runs wild, but as you get older you tend to forget how to use it. For example, in elementary school you spent days coloring or going to art class, but in college you rarely got the chance to pick up a paintbrush.

In order to embrace your childhood and rediscover your creative genius, here are 7 ways you can stay creative on a daily basis:

1. Take risks.

Go outside your comfort zone. You can’t develop new ideas if you don’t break free from what you are used to.

2. Make to-do lists.

Get your thoughts together in one place. Just start writing. Once you do, more things will come to mind.

3. Listen to music.

Music can help you relax and get your creative juices flowing. Take a minute, jam out to your favorite song or just have some background music playing.

4. Take a walk.

It’s important to shake things up and clear your mind. Many people have a busy schedule. So, a fifteen-minute walk with fresh air and nature can really help.

5. Build energy.

Run on the treadmill, do some jumping jacks, or drink some coffee. When you stay in one place for too long you can lose concentration. The increase in energy will help regain your focus.

6. Find inspiration.

Look on the Internet, observe others, make an experiment, go to the library, etc. Whatever the project may be it helps to look for inspiration in a variety of ways.

Ask your friends, family and coworkers to look over what you are working on. Sometimes others can see things that you don’t and getting another perspective might help you discover a new idea.
