Job Description:

Improvements to the BLM’s planning and NEPA framework are underway. Technological innovations are at the heart of the strategy we currently call eNEPA. Adopting a modernized approach to collecting, managing, and analyzing information will reduce the time involved in permitting, and clarify the reporting of environmental impacts. eNEPA will be a reporting and publishing tool that modernizes the current ePlanning website. The first phase of eNEPA will be an automated Categorical Exclusion module that will streamline and standardize the way the BLM uses this form of NEPA review to authorize projects. Within one dashboard, field staff will have access to the information needed to seamlessly complete their analyses for proposed activities on public lands. The DHA Intern will join the project at a critical point for engaging BLM staff. The intern will contribute to communications utilizing their skills in graphic design and visualization, as well as through data and information. The intern will be expected to assist with the development of a communications strategy, creation of graphics of the NEPA workflow process, drafting emails to testing and development teams, and the creation of slide presentations for leadership. The intern will also contribute to the content of the communications materials.
