What You’ll Do:
Our internal Merchandising Department needs a Jr. Interior Designer to join our national model home design team. We design and manage beautiful model homes across all our markets and need your help creating these exciting environments that become successful selling tools. This position is a fantastic opportunity for growth and collaboration as we build our national presence and internal merchandising department.
Your Key Responsibilities Include:
· Collaboration and teamwork on interiors projects, including programming, design development, and documentation.
· Develop space planning concepts and generate program documents.
· Participate in developing and producing CAD plans, elevations, and construction drawing sets.
· Procurement and management of internal material, catalogs, and sample library.
· Research and write specifications for all finish materials, lighting fixtures, window treatments, paint schedule, custom builds, and trim treatments.
· Coordinate and document design details with lead designers.
· Measure for drapery.
· Assemble flat-packed or similar furniture pieces using basic tools.
· Set and meet tight deliverable schedules based on department deadlines.
· Perform other duties as needed or assigned.
What You Have:
· A natural eye for design and a solid working knowledge of FF&E, fabric, color, scale, and construction detailing.
· A clear understanding of, and ability to, work with architectural drawings sets.
· Familiarity with interior design library materials and trade resources.
· Experience working on the initial project design with a team from design development to execution and installation.
· Experience in producing Shop Drawings and Schedules.
· Experience assembling flat-packed or similar furniture pieces; experience using basic tools.
· Auto-CAD proficiency necessary; Sketch Up experience helpful.
· Experience with PowerPoint.
· The ability and willingness to travel nationally 50% of the time to receive model home furnishings on-site and assist with the installation.
· Ability to walk, climb, stand, sit for long periods, and lift up to 25 lbs.
· Willingness to work outside in various weather conditions.
Your Education and Experience:
· 2-3 years of design industry experience; preferred model home or home staging experience.
· An Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design or an equivalent combination of education and experience within the design industry is required.
· Proficiency in AutoCAD is required.
· Must be a licensed driver with a reliable vehicle for transporting merchandising inventory and conducting site visits.
· Please be prepared to present your portfolio/samples of related work.
