The Summer Practicum is a 12-week program in professional practice for students desiring hands-on, on-the-ground, nuts-and-bolts experience. Students will be immersed in the office’s active design projects and work directly with project teams to produce drawings, go on site visits, and assist with construction administration. This is a great opportunity to gain AXP hours and learn and practice drawing and detailing techniques. This year, we are accepting applications in architecture and interior architecture, though applicants should not feel limited to applying for only their current academic discipline. While the Practicum is structured around a 12-week period from roughly the end of May through August, with the exact dates to be finalized with the selected candidate.
The Practicum is open to both undergraduate and graduate students who plan to return to school in the fall. Previous work and Revit experience strongly encouraged.
Utile is interested in highly motivated candidates who are prepared to contribute to our commitment to justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion in our office. Members of communities who have been historically underrepresented in architecture, including women, 2SLGBTQIA+ people, Black, Indigenous, and people of color are encouraged to apply. This position is available as either a hybrid or fully in-person position to be based primarily at our Boston office.
To apply, please submit a cover letter, resume, and portfolio (no more than 10mb) via our application portal. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis through 3/19/23 at the latest, so students are encouraged to apply early! Please email jobs@utiledesign.com with any questions.
