JOB SUMMARY: The intern will play a crucial role in assisting the design team with various tasks related to architectural planning and design. This internship will provide hands-on experience in the field of architecture and an opportunity to work on real-world projects, develop design skills, and gain exposure to the themed entertainment industry. This internship includes exposure to a diverse range of architectural projects, mentorship and guidance from experienced architects and designers, opportunities for professional development and networking, and a supportive and collaborative work environment.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Collaborates with architects and senior designers to develop design concepts and translate them into 2D and 3D representations.
- Assists in the creation of detailed architectural drawings and plans using industry-standard software (AutoCAD, Revit, Sketchup, etc.).
- Participates in site visits and surveys to gather data and analyze site conditions to inform design decisions.
- Researches and compiles information on construction materials, finishes, and sustainable design practices.
- Creates mood boards to help visualize and communicate design ideas effectively.
- Prepares visual presentations, including renderings and presentation boards, to communicate design concepts to clients and stakeholders.
- Assists in the preparation of project documentation, including construction drawings, specifications, and project reports.
- Collaborates with cross-functional teams in the firm, including architects, engineers, and project managers, to ensure the successful execution of projects.
- Understands and actively participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training, and Team Member involvement activities.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION:
- In pursuit of an Associate, Bachelor or Graduate degree at an Accredited Institution with current class standing of Junior or above.
- Recent graduates will not be eligible for this program.
- Minimum cumulative 3.0 GPA is preferred.
- An official transcript may be required upon request.
- Preferred majors include: Architecture, Interiors, Graphic Design.
EXPERIENCE: Prior internship experience related to position is preferred.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
Preferable skills for success in role include but not limited to:
- Currently enrolled in or recent graduate of an accredited architecture or design program.
- Strong proficiency in architectural design software (AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Studio, etc).
- Basic knowledge of construction materials, methods and building codes.
- Strong attention to detail and a passion for innovative and sustainable design.
- A portfolio of relevant design work or projects is a plus.
- Must be efficient in Microsoft Office Programs including, but not limited to: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong interpersonal skills, problem-solving abilities and organization.
- Exceptional attention to detail.
- Superior written & verbal communication skills.
- Work in a fast-paced environment and adhere to deadlines.
- Ability to work autonomously and/or in teams.
- Consistent attendance.

- This internship will be an in-person experience, based in our Orlando offices.
- Interns must be currently pursuing a degree at an accredited university, and must have a graduation date later than April 2024.
- Universal Orlando does not provide housing. Interns are responsible for their own housing and transportation.
