The Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD), the nation’s second largest school district is currently seeking college (at least junior standing) and graduate school students for Administrative Interns I and II to do technical administrative work for the Facilities Services Division.
The LAUSD construction program includes modernization, rehabilitation and critical repair program and is the largest school construction program in the nation’s history, managed by the Facilities Services Division in the District. Intern Positions
The current available Administrative Intern I position ($21.31 per hour) will perform entry-level technical administrative work under immediate supervision on a part-time/full-time basis.
ONLY STUDENTS PURSUING THE FOLLOWING DEGREES WILL BE CONSIDERED:
1. Construction Management
2. Architecture and/or Interior Design
3. Civil Engineering
4. Mechanical Engineering
5. Structural Engineering
6. Sustainability
7. Urban Planning
8. Electrical Engineering
9. Industrial Technology
Entrance Qualifications for Administrative Intern I (Junior/Senior Standing Only): Enrollment of 12 semester units or equivalent quarter units at a recognized college or university during the current semester or on a following semester upon submission of application.
The current available Administrative Intern II positions ($24.53 per hour) will perform similar technical administrative work on a part-time basis while pursuing an advanced degree in a graduate program in the following areas of specialization:
1. Sustainability
With emphasis on the following:
a. Renewable Energy
b. A/E Design
c. Sustainable Landscape Design
d. Greening Program
2. Environmental Engineering or Environmental Science
3. Architecture
4. Engineering
5. Construction Management
Entrance Qualifications for Administrative Intern II: Status as a graduate student (currently enrolled in a minimum of 6 units) in a master’s program at a recognized college or university.
Special Qualifications for Administrative Interns I & II:
A valid California Driver License, Proof of Auto Insurance and use of an automobile may be required for interns assigned to construction sites.

As part of this team you will join in one of the largest public works projects currently underway in the United States. You will have the opportunity to work with a team of top-level professionals whose mission will be to successfully orchestrate a program that will make a positive impact on our schools and our students. You will gain valuable experience in construction management and project management aspects by joining construction, planning & development, design management, environmental and sustainability, and project controls teams within the Facilities Services Division.
SPECIAL NOTE:
1. If appointed to a position in either classification, continued employment is contingent upon continued enrollment. Interns will be assigned to work up to 16 hours a week during school semesters and may work up to 40 hours per week during the summer months when school is not in session.
