Julio Alvarez is a Florida Licensed Interior Designer with multidisciplinary training. He holds a Bachelor of Interior Design, a Graduate Certificate in History and Theory of Architecture, and a Master of Landscape Architecture from Florida International University. Mr. Alvarez worked for award-winner interior design firms in Florida, such as L.E. Seitz & Associates and Area Architects, in hospitality, workplace, retail and residential design. He is a local and international interior architecture consultant and Professor of interior design and architecture. Mr Alvarez has over twenty years of teaching experience in the School of Architecture and Interior Design of Miami Dade College; and in the School of Architecture of Catholic University Redemptoris Mater in Nicaragua. His research interest focuses on blurring the threshold between interior and exterior spaces through specific aspects of sustainable design, such as biophilia, legibility, and environmental graphic design.
