Gabriela Luaces
Adjunct Professor
MIArch, Associate AIA, NEWH
Traveling to Spain inspired Gabriela to major in Interior Design. From that trip, she learned more about her culture and what made the way it is today. Her mom has always told her stories about their family and the little town where they grew up in Torremolinos, Malaga, Spain. The life in Spain is completely different than the Miami life. Looking at different artworks, houses on the hills, mountains, and beaches was a different lifestyle than Miami. Inspired, Gabriela went back to Miami Dade College to study Interior Design Technology. Most of Gabriela’s inspirations went into her projects which were presented at the Architecture and Interior Design showcase at Miami Dade College. After three years, she received her Associate in Arts and Associate in Science degrees which then got accepted to Florida International University, where she majored Interior Architecture and graduated with a Master's degree. Now, she is pursuing her dream as an adjunct professor in the Interior Architecture Department at Florida International University, where she has the opportunity to show her design thinking and skills, in order to teach and guide the future generation to a successful education.
